ICYMI: Las Vegas Police Protective Association Endorses Sheriff Joe Lombardo for Governor
May 20, 2022
IIn case you missed it, the Las Vegas Police Protective Association (LVPPA) announced their endorsement of Sheriff Joe Lombardo for Nevada governor at a joint press conference yesterday at LVPPA headquarters. The LVPPA is Nevada’s largest single police association, representing over 3,000 commissioned police and corrections officers.
LVPPA President Steve Grammas announced the association’s resounding endorsement of Sheriff Lombardo, saying, “I can think of no better candidate in this state, and even across this country, to endorse for governor…it is with great honor, great privilege to say that we have proudly endorsed Sheriff Joe Lombardo for Governor.”
Sheriff Lombardo thanked LVPPA and Grammas, saying, “Steve, it’s an honor. It’s an honor to receive your endorsement from the PPA. It’s been great to work with you during my career at Metro and during my tenure as sheriff, so it means a lot to have them stand with me today in my run for governor.”
Standing with Sheriff Lombardo in front of 15 LVPPA Board Members, Grammas also slammed Steve Sisolak in his remarks, saying, “Steve Sisolak was endorsed by the PPA when he ran before. The PPA will not be endorsing Steve Sisolak again. Steve Sisolak turned his back on the community, he turned his back on law enforcement, he turned his back on these people standing behind me that supported him.”
